ABOUT THIS BOOK

Structured as a friendly glossary with 80 entries, the ABC of Feminist (Self) Publishing covers writing, editing, and designing, but also sales, legal structures, distribution, as well as consent, care, collaboration, and the many political actions, large and small, that help bring feminist voices into the world.

Here, feminism is not just a label but a way to actively challenge what bell hooks called the "White-Supremacist Capitalist Patriarchy." Readers will find tools, tips, and resources, alongside topics such as accessibility, budgeting, copyright, typography, distribution, and legal obligations, distilled into accessible language.

Originally published in 2024 by Éditions Trouble, the authors' own publishing house, ABC of Feminist (Self)Publishing has been translated, expanded, and revised by Bikini Books. Its hope is to serve as a lightning spark for a constellation of new feminist publications, bookstores, fairs, and more.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Sisters Apolline and Clémentine Labrosse are the founders of Censored, a biannual queer feminist magazine dedicated to art and culture. In 2023, they also started Éditions Trouble, an independent publisher embracing diverse literary genres to explore the nuanced dimensions of feminist, queer, ecological, and decolonial perspectives.
